Site Section Drawing: 07/10/2025

BArch Year 3 students undertook site analysis of five sites in Newark, in preparation for their major design project. To help them to understand the sites, they produced a collaborative drawing where they drew a site section through their assigned site. It didn’t need to be to scale, but they needed to accurately depict the proportions of the buildings and site levels etc. They found this task challenging, especially as we asked them to do this from memory! However, this exercise helped the students to understand the site and this was particularly evident in the final site drawings produced for reviews the following week, which showed an accurate representation of the sites.
