Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB Workshop) 03.06.25
During the last two days, we have been joined by SPAB scholars in the architecture department at the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment (ADBE), creating ideas for St. Mary's Church in the Lace Market, Nottingham. The two days involved inspiration talks from the SPAB scholars, a measured survey and measured drawing of the church (including collaborative section drawings), an introduction from the reverend James Saunders's on the history of the church and collaborative drawing & collage to represent ideas for adapting/extending the church to create an improved music room, office, kitchen, toilets & storage. We were super impressed with the work the students managed to achieve in such a short period of time! A big thank you to SPAB and St. Mary's Church, Nottingham!
Students Ramita Eswarappa and Amanpreet Kang were also able to present the works of all four groups to the Fabric Committee at St. Mary's Church with the help of Holly Mills on the 16th of July.
